This morning I was surprised to see that I'd received several emails noting many of the votes that had been cast for some candidates were coming from not only from outside the 3rd CD but also outside of New Mexico. This is indeed the case.
Though Bernie and I are working on a way of limiting participants in future polls to either those who signup to receive notifications or at least those with New Mexico IP addresses, until that happens, we want to make sure visitors to our site know how to go beyond the percentages when analyzing the poll results.
To do this, first click on the "comment" link at the bottom of the poll. This will take you to the Vizu page where the poll is hosted.
By using the zoom feature on google maps, you can see where votes in support of the different candidates have been cast. You'll see that our candidates have supporters from across the country and even outside of it, receiving votes from people in Canada, California, Florida, Iowa, Texas and Kansas, just to name a few of the states where votes have originated.
However, keep in mind that looking at the poll results using google maps may not be completely accurate. According to google, the map is limited to displaying only the 500 most recent votes and it's difficult to tell whether or not it's even showing all 236 votes that have been cast already.

What other information is your Online Poll collecting?
Is your Poll collecting IP addresses, physical addresses?
Are you sharing this information with ALL of the candidates?

The poll is an unscientific measurement of support for the candidates.
We are NOT collecting IP addresses nor are we collecting physical addresses.
To ensure ALL the candidates have access to the information we gather we've been posting it to a website; www.Ward47a.com
We hope this answers your questions.
