Farmington city councilor also considering run for congress

FARMINGTON — City Councilor Jason Sandel said he'll decide shortly after Thanksgiving on a run for Tom Udall's U.S. House of Representatives seat.


"It's 50-50 right now," Sandel, 33, said. "I've got a huge commitment to our community. I have a 6-year-old daughter who loves Farmington ... (but) I like to think I would be able to push at having the north and east rise again in our state."


Fixing dilapidated roads and spotty access to health care in rural New Mexico rank high on his local priorities. Nationally, he'd focus on ending the war in Iraq, improving health care and budget issues.
